When customizing paper bags, many merchants often have misunderstandings due to lack of professional knowledge, which leads to rework, cost increase and even delays in delivery. Today, we will sort out 3 most common misunderstandings to help you avoid detours.

Misunderstanding 1: "The thinner the paper, the cheaper it is, so choose the thinnest one". In fact, the thickness of the paper directly determines the load-bearing capacity and service life of the paper bag. Choosing too thin paper will lead to the paper bag being easily deformed and broken when carrying items, which not only affects the customer experience but also makes the brand look cheap. It is recommended to choose the paper thickness according to the actual use scenario: for light items (such as leaflets, small gifts), 120g-150g paper is sufficient; for heavy items (such as clothing, cosmetics sets), 180g-200g thick paper is needed to ensure load-bearing.

Misunderstanding 2: "The more processes, the better". Many merchants think that adding more processes (such as hot stamping, embossing, UV) can improve the grade, but in fact, excessive processes will make the design cluttered, lose the core focus of the brand, and also increase the customization cost and rework risk. It is recommended to match the process according to the brand tone: for minimalist brands, simple offset printing is enough; for high-end brands, 1-2 core processes (such as hot stamping + simple embossing) can highlight the texture without being redundant.

Misunderstanding 3: "After confirming the design, it can be produced immediately". In fact, the production of custom paper bags requires material preparation, mold making and other links. Especially for special processes such as hot stamping and embossing, it is necessary to reserve a certain production cycle. It is recommended to confirm the design and size 7-10 days in advance to avoid delaying the delivery time due to material preparation or mold making.
